The Icon Component for Adobe™ Flex™ (in beta) is the easiest way to add and display an icon anywhere in components or application. What this means is that you can take an image, component or container, included or custom, and add it to another component or container inside, outside above or below the target contents. For example, if you are loading an image into an image component you can add a "status" or "preloader" icon to the image to signify to the user that the image is loading. You can set the position to one of nine specific locations, top left, top center, top right, middle center, center, middle right, bottom left, bottom center, bottom right. A preloader image is included or you can use your own component. Any component you use can be positioned inside or outside of the content and above or below the chrome / border (see the example).
